Everybody wants to be as healthy as they can but not everybody has the time to do the required amount of exercise to get there. This is actually why some health experts are advocating the ten thousand step method. The strategy is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) which will help you get very healthy and cut down on the time that is required for exercise. Walking can be excellent physical exercise and very low impact. How often have you over heard a health care provider say ?just a single walk around the block helps your health??
Obviously, this will not easy to take ten thousand steps everyday. That?s a huge number of steps to take! The nice thing about it is that you are already probably taking ten thousand steps each day without knowing it. All you need to do is learn how to add in a couple or few thousand extra steps to achieve this goal. So how do you make it happen without feeling like you?re spending half of your morning walking around?
There are a number of totally obvious things you can apply to take more steps. One typical example of this is going up the the stairs instead of taking an elevator or escalator. When you decide to go to the store or the mall park further from the entrance. To further this strategy, you can also remain parked in a single spot and walk your shopping bags out to the car as you accumulate them-instead of carting them all over the shopping center as you run your errands. Choosing public transit is great because it includes a walk to and from a bus or train stop which is great for increasing your step count. The most obvious way to do it, of course, would be to just take a short walk each day.
Some less obvious ways to grow your step count are also available. Order your current shopping list in another way. Most people today will write out a grocery store list according to the aisles in the shops. Organize your list in categories such as dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Simply shop along the list from here. You could possibly end up criss crossing the store more than once but it?s a wonderful way to raise your step count. Instead of putting your mailbox inside your front door or installing it in a wall of your house, put it out by the curb on a post. This may create a minumum of one or two dozen steps to your count when you check the mail everyday.
There are a lot of ways of build your current step count. As you grow to be used to walking 10,000 steps each day you?ll think of plenty of creative ways to get to that number. Thankfully, every step you take?whether it?s walking to the refrigerator or jogging on a treadmill, counts toward your end step count goal. Have fun with it!
