Food drive kicks off for Valley pets | Food Science Chef

PHOENIX ? With many Arizonans confronting unemployment, families are holding advantage of Valley food bank programs.

But mostly ignored are family pets and Petco stores are looking for we to assistance out.

Starting Sunday, Oct 30 by Nov 13, Petco stores national will be collecting food and teaming adult with internal food banks to make certain pets aren?t going hungry.

This is a second year for a pet food expostulate in that Petco business can squeeze additional food or spawn during their selling trip, or move unopened bags or boxes from home, and dump it into specifically noted bins located during any store.

According to association officials, Hill?s Science Diet will match, bruise for pound, each bag of cat and dog food donated, adult to 100,000 pounds.

?Since a National Pet Food Bank module launched in Mar 2010, Petco and a Petco Foundation have collected and donated scarcely a million pounds of pet food and spawn to families in need,? states a association news release.
