Italian tanker is free from Somali pirates (AP)

ROME ? Italy says an Italian oil tanker is free, 10 months after pirates seized it and its crew of 22 in the waters off Somalia.

Italian Premier Mario Monti's office says he expressed his satisfaction Wednesday for the release of the crew and the tanker, the Savina Caylyn. Somali pirates seized the vessel on Feb. 8. Five Italians were among the crew. No details about the release were given.

Last month, an Italian cargo ship and its crew were released after being held for seven months by pirates off Somalia.
