Business Strategy Manager, PC & Web Gaming

The Xbox LIVE Services Business and Strategy Team is looking for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to help grow our PC & Web business into a significant profit driver for IEB overall. PC & Web gaming is at a pivotal moment with the explosion of social gaming trends, and development and implementation of a solid plan is critical to establish Microsoft as the #1 player in the interactive entertainment space, and you will play an integral role in making that a reality.

Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for business planning, rhythm of the business coordination and other key projects associated with running the web & PC games business. Help drive strategic initiatives and assist in implementing strategies and tactics across the org. These initiatives may include driving revenue growth, developing competitive strategies, rationalizing product portfolios, and assisting in tradeoff decisions amongst other lines of business.

As the Web/PC Business Manager, you will also be the driver of the annual, monthly, and weekly PC/Web revenue commitments. A deep understanding of forecasting and multistep variance analysis is essential. An ability to effectively articulate your businesses performance in both written and oral form is also critical.

Responsibilities include:

Driving our Rhythm of Business process:

Revenue forecasting

Revenue actuals vs. forecast variance analysis communication

Revenue recovery activity if necessary

User level analysis on engagement, tenure, purchasing behavior and more

Extract and summarize key business insights on an ongoing basis

Facilitate internal and external partner evangelism and collaboration

Assist marketing team in determining the Gross Margin Return on Investment of programs. Work to gain consensus and adoption of ROI methodology throughout org

Analyze service usage and other metrics to develop business intelligence in order to further guide business planning.

Act as internal ?subject matter expert? and external face of the Web/PC Games business.

Develop effective plans to address the best market opportunities, communicating across the organization and gaining broad consensus and approval.

Work on ad-hoc projects as needed to meet the changing business environment.

Key Skills Required:

5+ years of Business Analysis, Consulting, Strategy, or Finance experience required

Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience analyzing Revenue, Trends, KPI's, or Business Performance required

Experience managing and analyzing a P&L required

Ability to use PowerPoint to tell a succinct business story based on data analysis

Gaming industry or Ecommerce experience highly preferred

Executive Presence and Business Maturity

Highly developed business management skills coupled with a broad understanding of the software industry

Ability to drive results within a matrixed environment via cross group collaboration

Solid relationship and communication skills in working with senior managers and Microsoft-wide groups

Ability to effectively develop key processes and procedures that facilitate efficient planning, reporting and control processes
